Setting and Character Creation:

When the jungles were swept from the continent and the sandstorms eradicated the inland cities, the political boarders of Athas shifted and dissolved. After many years of political strife the boundaries settled and, in the end, very few nations remained. Since then however, peace for the sake of survival has held strong across Athas’ remaining governing bodies. Peace between nations though, has not meant a complete lack of conflict. Between the Church of Aleria, the Cailiban Trade Corp., The Vitrol Brothers, and the Dwarven Lords there is never a dull moment across Athas.

In this campaign, you will take on the role of mage hunters and peacekeepers, tasked with policing the use of sorcery and protecting civilization from inhuman threats.

The Birth of Heroes

Before creating a character you may wish to familiarize yourself with the continent of Astrid: its history, its people, and its geography.

It’s important to read through the articles on race and history before selecting your character attribute. Your character will need a strong connection to the town of Weston. Weston is a small village located in Argus. This is where the campaign will start. This connection can be anything really, as long as you care about the people or the location and either live in the town or make frequent trips there.

You will start the game at level 1. Refer to the lists below for the races and classes available to this campaign. You may select 2 traits at level 1. You may choose to take up to 2 drawbacks as well. For each drawback you take you may choose one additional trait.
